The ability to operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, saws, drill press etc.
• Ability to use measuring instruments.
• Understand the 5s principles.
• Operates various hand and/or machine shop tools with high degree of precision.
• Ability to organize and schedule mold maintenance activities a plus.
• Adjust equipment settings to ensure quality production.
• Willingness to learn to troubleshoot and repair molds as needed.
• Read blueprints to create new fixtures and mold parts.
• Inspect completed tools for any defects.
• Collaborate with supervisor and department teammates daily.
• At least 3 years of prior mold or tooling design experience preferred.
• MUST have at least 3 years of prior experience with manual machining, particularly ID and OD grinding.
• CNC programming or operation experience is a plus.
• Must have access to own handheld tools.
• Willingness to learn and cross-train and ability to work well with others in various departments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and effective time management and organizational skills
• Positive attitude and ability to work independently.
• Assume responsibility for the quality of completed assignments.
• Problem solve and determine solutions for various types of tooling problems.
• The ability to use and apply shop mathematics including geometry, trigonometry, and Machinery’s Handbook formulas as required to complete assignments.
• The ability to work independently and apply ingenuity to analyze and resolve problems.
• The ability to design and make your own small fixtures and jigs for machining operations.
• Adhere to all required company safety rules and practices.
• Ability to mentor other team members.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including overtime as needed.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and company success.
• Ability to occasionally exert up to 50 lbs. of force, and/or consistently exert up to 20 lbs. of force to move objects.
• Ability to comply with SQF (Safe Quality Food) requirements and GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices)
• Perform additional tasks as required.
