Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced distribution center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other heavy equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of materials within the warehouse. This role requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.
Responsibilities
• Operate forklifts, including cherry pickers and pallet jacks, to transport materials throughout the warehouse.
• Perform shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory control.
• Utilize RF scanners to track inventory levels and manage stock locations effectively.
• Conduct routine inspections of forklifts and other heavy equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Assist in loading and unloading trucks, ensuring that materials are handled safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety regulations.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
Requirements
• Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as required by job duties.
• Familiarity with materials handling processes and shipping/receiving procedures.
• Experience with RF scanners for inventory management is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
• Valid forklift certification is a plus, but training may be provided for qualified candidates.
