Core & Coil Assembler (with lamination insertion and lead-out wiring
The core and coil assembler role is a heavy mechanical assembly position that involves inserting individual lamination sheets into a designated core structure, followed by winding and inserting the coil, and finally, connecting the coil ends to lead wires for external connections. In this role, an employee will work on functions such as landing coils, placing top yoke steel by hand, using hydraulic equipment to press coils, and utilizing crimping equipment to connect insulated copper cables
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge with transformer or equivalent 1 year (Required)
• Basic knowledge of machinery and equipment used in assembly.
• Ability to manipulate heavy components, including the core and coils.
• Ability to use hand tools and equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50/70 lbs.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints

• Pay: $19.00 – $25.00 per hour
• 8-hour shift
Responsibilities
• Follow drawings and other established manufacturing procedures. Coordinate and communicate with supervision and team leaders.
• Set up core.
• Land Coils onto a Core (E-Assemble) using a crane.
• Cut fix and spread core clamps.
• Set up Pressing equipment and Press unit.
• Lock in unit.
• Take pressing equipment off the unit and Top Yoke.
• Perform work in other departments as needed.
• Have the ability to look up unit non-conformances electronically.
• Pull-in and complete Core & Coil Assembly for pre-lead ratio/inspection.
• May work in Med Power, Large Power or Extra High Voltage product lines.
• Crimp & insulate connections.
• Assemble and wire the reactor.
• Build and assemble Booster Unit complete (set up core/e-assembly through wiring) as needed.
• Complete specific contamination control and cleanliness maintenance procedures such as vacuuming, performing magnetic steps, and cleaning other items.
• Complete 5S training and keep tools, equipment and work areas clean and orderly.
• Follows all safety procedures and policies of company.
• Will, as required, perform repair work on the oil component inside and outside of the tank.
• Assist in training new operators.
Physical Demands
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to frequently walk and stand. Must occasionally be able to climb, balance, push, pull, carry and sit. Will minimally work below waist level.
