Job Title: OEM Machine Operator
Department: Production
Reports To:Shift Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY
Cuts, Drills, and Fits parts of specified size and shape from foam sheets or planks by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Other duties may be assigned.
Reports to foreman stand at the beginning of shift for daily assignment.
Operates different equipment lines as production needs require.
Reads and interprets work method to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
Identifies and requisitions materials needed.
Plugs in and sets up machine by any of the following: selecting proper blade/grinding tool, adjusting tool speed and feed rate, adjusting tool cut/grind depth and size, all per work method.
Inserts material to be fashioned into machine.
Depresses start/on controls to begin machine operation.
Feeds material through tool. Band saws parts as required.
Measures parts to ensure correct specifications are met.
Visually inspects finished product for physical defects.
Finishes part by smoothing any rough edges.
Packages parts for shipping, if required.
Keeps accurate count of parts completed.
Performs housekeeping duties as needed at end of each shift.
Follows all safety regulations.
Performs duties in accordance with all applicable quality system procedures and standardized work instructions.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to measure within 1/16 of an inch.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
